DATE OF INCEPTION:     October, 2000

 

MISSION:                     The shared mission is to strengthen public health training and workforce development, with a special emphasis on improving public health workers’ capacity to deal with bioterrorism.

.

TRAINING:                    The Center designs and implements bioterrorism response programs for its diverse public health partners and conducts competency-based training of the public health workforce.  Training often takes the form of web-based coursework to give diverse groups of public health professionals tailored education that best suits their needs.  Ensuring that the entire public health workforce is well prepared to provide essential services to respond effectively in an emergency is critical.

 

PARTNERS:                  The Center is a unique partnership between public health, medical and dentistry schools, and state and local health departments.
