ASPH has partnered with Pfizer, Inc. to recognize outstanding teaching, practice, and research within the ASPH-member, CEPH-accredited Schools of Public Health. This partnership has developed four awards as well as the ASPH/Pfizer Public Health Academy of Distinguished Teachers. For more information on the awards or the academy, follow the links below.
ASPH/Pfizer Award for Teaching Excellence
The ASPH/Pfizer Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes graduate public health faculty from full ASPH-member, accredited schools of public health who are notable for their teaching excellence. In particular, the award supports faculty who are outstanding in teaching and mentoring students toward distinction in public health research, teaching and practice. The award aims to bring visibility to one outstanding faculty member and to reward the professor for excellence in teaching. For more information, click here.
ASPH/Pfizer Early Career in Public Health Teaching Award
This award recognizes one full-time, graduate, public health faculty from a full ASPH-member, accredited school of public health who is early in his or her career and notable for teaching excellence. In particular, the ASPH/Pfizer Award for Teaching Excellence supports junior faculty who are outstanding in teaching and mentoring students toward distinction in public health research, teaching, and practice. ASPH/Pfizer Faculty Award for Excellence in Academic Public Health Practice
This award recognizes full-time faculty, from full ASPH-member, CEPH-accredited schools of public health. In particular, this award aims to highlight and reward faculty who have devoted their careers to advancing and integrating scholarly, public health practice within research, teaching, and service. ASPH/Pfizer Young Investigator’s Research Award
This new national award will recognize a single, outstanding research paper that was published in 2010 by a full-time, young investigator, faculty member from a full ASPH-member, accredited school of public health. For more information, click here.
ASPH/Pfizer Public Health Academy of Distinguished Teachers
ASPH and Pfizer launched the Public Health Academy of Distinguished Teachers in June of 2007. The academy seeks to elevate the excellence, visibility, scholarship and impact of learning and teaching in public health. It will achieve these goals by publicly honoring faculty who excel in learning, teaching and student mentoring; by sharing and disseminating discoveries in learning and instructional scholarship and experience; and by providing opportunities and resources to promote the role of teaching and learning among public health colleagues, programs and schools.
