Nationally recognized as an innovative new model for public health education, Albany's School of Public Health offers graduate-level academic and professional training in a broad range of health sciences. A joint venture of the University at Albany and the New York State Department of Health, Albany's School of Public Health is the first collaborative venture of its kind nationwide. Research interests of the more than 200 doctoral level faculty touch on pressing national health issues including AIDS, minority health, injury control, environmental and occupational health sciences, cancer prevention, and the politics and economics attendant on the fast-changing health care field. Master's level (MPH and MS) programs in Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Health Policy, Management, and Behavior are available as well as Doctorate (DrPH) programs through Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Health Policy, Management and Behavior. In addition, PhD degrees are offered by Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, and Biomedical Sciences. Each professional program couples academic training with "real-world" internships and field placements in a wide variety of public, private and non-profit health agencies. |
