| During its seventy-year history, the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health has achieved worldwide recognition for its ability to balance leading-edge science with an emphasis on informed, community-based practice. This dual allegiance to discovery and application continues to guide our educational programs, research initiatives, and service activities across the state, nation, and world. Our view of public health is broad and inclusive. Whether focused on water quality or managed care quality, the School's activities are intrinsically related to population health.
