| The College of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center has a 30 year history of leadership in education and research. Students in each area of concentration work with a multidisciplinary faculty to prepare for the challenges of public health in the future. The depth of academic experience is broadened by the research climate at the College of Public Health. Research areas include diabetes, heart disease, highway safety, residential exposure to outdoor air pollution, teen pregnancy and tobacco prevention programs. The College also has an extensive commitment to research in Native American health issues. In addition to four academic departments, the college is home to four federally funded centers dedicated to protecting and improving the public's health. These centers are the Southwest Center for Public Health Preparedness, the OU Prevention Research Center, the Center for American Indian Health Research and the Center for Biosecurity Research. |
