| The UMDNJ-School of Public Health is a statewide, multi-institutional, multi-campus scholarly community dedicated to improving the health of diverse populations in New Jersey and elsewhere through collaborative teaching, research and service. The UMDNJ-School of Public Health is sponsored by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in cooperation with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (RU) and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). It is served by three New Jersey campuses located in Newark, Piscataway/New Brunswick, and Stratford/Camden. The MPH, MS in Biostatistics, PhD and DrPH degree programs are offered, as well as a number of dual and articulated degree opportunities. UMDNJ-SPH also offers a number of certificate programs.
The Newark Campus welcomed its first class in 1999. This campus evolved as a result of increasing interest in the public health field and growing relationships between UMDNJ‚ Rutgers-Newark, and NJIT. Concentrations on this campus include: Dental Public Health; Quantitative Methods; and Urban Health Administration.
The Piscataway/New Brunswick Campus was established in 1983 and accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health as a graduate public health program. The concentrations on this campus include: Biostatistics; Environmental and Occupational Health; Epidemiology; Health Education and Behavioral Science; and Health Systems and Policy.
The Stratford/Camden Campus welcomed its first class in 2001 in response to the growing demand for graduate public health education in South Jersey. This campus offers all five required core courses and includes the following concentration in collaboration with the Management and Policy track of RU-Camden and the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine: Health Systems and Policy.
The School is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. |
